Joseph Aczel is a storyteller with a camera. He has documented events all over the United States, photographed movie stars and prime ministers, and brings his passion for capturing unique moments to your child’s bar or bat mitzvah.
He began his professional photographic career in 1987. As a staff photographer for several Boston area newspapers, Joseph won state and regional awards for his work, and was invited to attend the prestigious Eddie Adams Workshop, the only merit-based photojournalism seminar in the world. In 2001, he moved to Atlanta and brings his award-winning documentary style to your event.
Joseph is thrilled to be invited to creatively document the most intimate and special event in a child’s life. His
style is informed by his long experience as an award winning photojournalist, recording events with an artist’s eye for
movement and detail. He believes that the best moments are unexpected, and these are what he anticipates and
captures. With an uncommon eye he makes relaxed and beautiful portraits that allow personalities to shine. His
goal is to make images that will evoke a rush of emotion and memory when you look at them years after
this momentous day.
Joseph is also the staff photographer for Atlanta Life magazine and his images appear in Modern Bride, Jezebel, Doggie Aficionado and other national and local publications. He lives in Morningside with his three year old daughter, Arden.
Joseph is always available to meet with you regarding your mitzvah! Please give him a call at 404.543.5573 or
